tl;dr
I am a curious, hands-on engineer who works best with direct customer contact and tight feedback cycles. At Mojang Studios, I work closely with creators to understand their goals and extend the platform to support them. I combine broad technical knowledge with practical judgment to turn customer needs into clear plans and team priorities. I deliver through both my own engineering work and the teams I lead and support.
I am located in the beatutiful Pacific Northwest (Seattle area).
Professional Experience
Mojang Studios (2015 - Present) - Principal Software Engineer
- Co-designed major portions of Minecraft Bedrock’s scripting infrastructure, used across all creator content, including JavaScript bindings, TypeScript infrastructure, documentation, a debugger, and APIs. Continue to make API development more accessible so the whole team can expand creator capabilities. Lead the team that owns this infrastructure.
- Designed and developed the world conversion system, enabling Minecraft Bedrock releases on Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 4 while preserving players’ worlds from legacy console versions.
- Co-designed the service-to-game-server architecture for Gatherings, Minecraft’s live-service platform, and helped develop it from its live-event origins.
- Developed Minecraft Earth as part of a small strike team, then owned critical systems through launch and sunset. Designed and owned the client-to-service integration layer at the core of its service-driven gameplay.
- Delivered key features for the initial Minecraft: Education Edition releases.
- Help direct major studio initiatives for Minecraft creators by turning feedback from creators, partner studios, and internal teams into shipped platform improvements. Engage directly with partners on platforms such as Jira, Discord, and Reddit to close the loop on technical customer feedback.
- Serve as one of Mojang Studios’ main open-source maintainers and as a key advocate and maintainer of creator-facing documentation for Minecraft Bedrock.
- Lead a team of six engineers across multiple projects while continuing to contribute as an individual engineer.

Hobby Interests
- Home-labbing a small Unraid server to self-host personal projects, CI/CD agents, media servers, and backup solutions. Great for ramping up into docker + headless server but with… a web UI head!
- Adding non-intrusive smart home devices to improve quality of life (and minimize family annoyance… normally). Generally using Home Assistant+ESPHome.
- Laser engraving using a CO2 laser. Mostly small gifts and personalized works.
